Dave Benz - Co-Founder / CEO

(View Dave's Resume)

Dave Benz has been noted as one of the foremost authorities on Dave Benz.  "Dave is really a very unique and talented individual," Dave has said. "His passion and zest for life is unmistakable."  To date, most of Dave's passion has been focused on the sports broadcasting industry; easy to understand as Dave has been surrounded by sports since a very early age.  In fact, his earliest memories as a child involve attending minor league baseball games in Syracuse, NY with his father.  Of course back then Dave was more concerned with locating the popcorn vendor or sno-cone guy than actually watching the games.

Dave still likes popcorn and sno-cones though now when attending a sporting event he also enjoys the contests.  And even better, these days Dave usually gets to watch those contests from press row, currently, as a sportscaster for Fox Sports Net in Denver, CO.  As a sports anchor / reporter / play by play announcer there Dave works closely with all the Denver-area sports teams. His work on the "Rocky Mountain Sports Report" earned him the second Emmy nomination of his career in 2005. Dave can currently be seen both regionally and nationally on shows ranging from FSN Live to Rockies Roundup to AFL Weekly.

Denver represents the sixth stop for Dave in his sportscasting career and his second go-round with Fox Sports Net. In 2001 & 2002 he called FSN's studios in Dallas, TX home where he acted as the main anchor for the Florida Sports Report (yes, the Florida show was produced in Dallas!). He also reported and anchored for the Southwest Sports Report.

Between his stints with FSN, Dave could be found in and around the arenas and Speedways of Indianapolis. While there Dave earned his first career emmy nomination as a sports anchor and reporter for the local Fox affiliate. In addition to his sportscasting duties for WXIN-TV, Dave also worked the sidelines for numerous Indianapolis Colts television broadcasts and acted as a reporter for Indiana Pacers pre- and post-game telecasts.

Dave's other sportscasting stints included work as an anchor / reporter for WAMI-TV in Miami where worked on “Sportstown,” an award winning, nightly sports showcase for South Florida.  He also regularly appeared on WAMI's Florida Marlins and Miami Heat pre- and post-game shows.  Dave's major market grooming took place at WLUK-TV in Green Bay, WI; WUTR-TV in Utica, NY; and numerous sports bars nationwide.

While searching for his major market break as a lead sports anchor in Green Bay, Dave spent hours scouring the internet for job openings. (His searches might have been quicker were he not easily sidetracked with stops on Maximmagazine.com and TheSpark.com).  Dave wished there were a single site he could visit on a daily basis, which would have the up to date listings, he was searching for... that's when the light went off in his head.  Dave's internet endeavor, Sportscastingjobs.com, was born.

Between maintaining his web-site, producing memorable television for Fox Sports Net and planning his crusade to rescind federal restrictions on the removal of mattress tags, Dave enjoys playing and watching all sorts of sports, traveling and spending time with his fiance, Sacha.  Dave aspires to continue his career on the network level, replace Bob Barker as host of “The Price is Right,” or win the lottery and sail the world on a massive yacht.  He's banking on the yacht.
